Wildfowl Walk
During the Wildfowl Walk you will encounter a wide
variety of wildlife. The small racoon-like Coati and the long tailed
Squirrel Monkeys live on the islands.
Various South American wildfowl are joined by native migratory species such as
Greylag Geese and Mallard; they choose to stay with us year round as we provide
plenty of feed and a safe breeding ground.
From the smaller Bahama Pintail and Brazilian Teal to the Coscoroba Swan
and the iridescent Comb Duck, all of the South American wildfowl have come
from collections in the United Kingdom.
You can tell the native and the South American species apart as
generally the South American species have more vibrant colouring and more
pronounced markings.
The last stop on the Wildfowl Walk is the Flamingo Lagoon, where you will
find some of our most vibrantly coloured residents,
the Chilean Flamingos.
